About Our Threads
Seagor Filaments are well-made threads for sewing. They work for big industrial jobs—like making mattresses—and small ones, such as sewing clothes. We have three main types: Polyester Filament Thread, Draw Textured Polyester Yarn, and special Mattress Sewing Thread. All are strong, long-lasting, and consistent.
Unlike cheap threads, we use good polyester resin. This means our threads don’t wear out easily. They resist water, stand up to sunlight, and hold up over time. Great for sewing mattress seams that need to last years, or outdoor fabrics that face rain and sun.
Our threads are flexible but strong. They don’t break easily while sewing, so you waste less time fixing issues. We check quality at every step, so each spool has the same thickness and color. Your finished products will look good and meet high standards.

What Makes Our Threads Good
1. Strong and Long-Lasting
Seagor Filaments use high-quality polyester. They’re 30% stronger than regular cotton or mixed threads. Our Mattress Sewing Thread is extra tough – it can handle thick mattress fabrics (like ticking and foam) without breaking. Mattress makers say it cuts machine downtime by up to 40%.
2. Textured for Better Grip
Our Draw Textured Polyester Yarn is stretched and crimped to make a rough surface.
3. Resists Weather and Chemicals
Unlike natural fibers, our polyester threads stand up to sunlight, water, and common chemicals (like detergent). They’re perfect for outdoor fabrics (awnings, boat covers) and medical items (that need sterilizing). They stay strong even after 50+ washes or years in the sun.
4. Consistent Quality and Color
We use computer-controlled machines to dye and make our threads. This means every spool of Polyester Filament Thread is the same thickness and color. No more differences between batches – your products will look uniform, even when using multiple spools.
5. Eco-Friendly
Our threads are made with 100% recyclable polyester. Our dyeing process uses 50% less water than old methods. All products meet OEKO-TEX® standards – no harmful stuff like heavy metals or formaldehyde. Safe for clothes, bedding, and baby items.
How Our Threads Compare
- vs. Cotton Thread: 3x more durable, resists water and heat better
- vs. Regular Polyester: 30% stronger, colors last longer, textured options for better grip
- vs. Nylon Thread: Cheaper, stretches less (good for precise sewing), doesn’t turn yellow over time
How to Use Our Threads
- 1. Pick the right thread type and thickness
- For mattresses: Use Mattress Sewing Thread (200D-800D) for thick fabrics
- For clothes: Use fine Polyester Filament Thread (50D-150D) for light fabrics (cotton, linen)
- For outdoor gear: Use Draw Textured Polyester Yarn (75D-300D) – it grips synthetic fabrics well
- 2. Test on scrap fabric first
- Sew a 10cm test seam to check for breaks, loops, or uneven stitches
- Fix tension or needle size if needed (e.g., loose stitches? Tighten the tension)
- 4. Store threads properly
- Keep spools in a cool, dry place – no direct sunlight or humidity
- Seal bulk boxes after use to keep dust off the thread
- Use older spools first (first in, first out) to keep them fresh
What You Can Use Them For
- Mattress Making: Mattress Sewing Thread is perfect for seams, box springs, and pillow tops. It’s strong enough for thick foam and ticking, and resists moisture to prevent mold in storage.
- Clothing: Fine Polyester Filament Thread (50D-150D) works for dress shirts, activewear, and kids’ clothes. It’s light, doesn’t wrinkle much, and stretches like spandex fabrics.
- Home Textiles: Draw Textured Polyester Yarn is good for upholstery, curtains, and bed linens. The texture keeps stitches tight in items that get lots of use (like sofas or duvets).
- Outdoor and Industrial Fabrics: Our threads work for awnings, boat covers, and construction tarps. They resist sun and water, so they stay strong in harsh weather – great for marine or construction work.
What You Get Out of It
- Lower Costs: Our durable threads break less, cutting downtime by 30-40%.
- One-Stop Shopping: We have threads for everything – from fine clothes to tough mattresses. This simplifies ordering and inventory management.
- Longer-Lasting Products: Our threads make your products last longer. For example, mattresses sewn with Mattress Sewing Thread have seams that last twice as long. You can market "durability" as a selling point.
- Fast Delivery: We keep popular Filaments (like 200D Mattress Sewing Thread) in stock. Urgent orders arrive in 3-5 days. Custom orders ship in 10-14 days.
Certifications We Have
Seagor Filaments meet global standards for quality, safety, and sustainability. This makes it easy to use them in your supply chain, no matter where you sell:
- SGS Tested: Passes strength, color fastness, and moisture resistance tests
- CPSIA Compliant: Meets U.S. safety standards for kids’ products
- REACH Compliant: No restricted chemicals – good for European markets
We include all certifications with each order, including test reports for custom products. If you have strict quality needs (like medical device makers), we can provide batch-specific certificates too.
We Can Customize for You
Seagor makes threads to fit your needs. No minimum order for custom requests:
- Thickness: Adjust thread thickness (50D-2000D) for special uses (e.g., 1500D for heavy industrial belts)
- Color Matching: Match any Pantone color or custom shade. Send us a sample, and we’ll get it right (±0.5 color difference)
How We Make Our Threads (and Check Quality)
Seagor Filaments are made in our ISO-certified factory. We follow 8 strict steps to ensure quality:
- Choosing Materials: We get 100% new polyester resin from trusted suppliers (no recycled plastic mixes). We test it for purity and quality.
- Melting and Shaping: Resin is melted at 280°C and pushed through tiny holes (spinnerets) to make long filaments. Computers make sure each filament is the same thickness.
- Stretching and Texturing (for Draw Textured Yarn): Filaments are stretched to 3x their length (to make them strong) and crimped with hot air to add texture.
- Dyeing: Filaments are dyed in computer-controlled vats to ensure consistent color. We use low-water, low-chemical dyes that meet OEKO-TEX® standards.
- Twisting: Filaments are twisted together (50-300 twists per meter) to make thread. We adjust the twist based on the type – more for Mattress Sewing Thread, for example.
What Our Customers Say
Emma Carter, Production Manager, Global Mattress Co.
"We started using Seagor’s Mattress Sewing Thread 6 months ago. Our sewing machines stop less – downtime is down 40%. The thread never breaks, even when sewing through 3 layers of foam and ticking. We’re making 15% more products, and wasting 25% less thread."
Marco Rossi, Owner, Rossi Upholstery (Italy)
"Seagor’s Draw Textured Polyester Yarn is perfect for our outdoor furniture. The texture keeps stitches tight, even when people sit on the sofas every day. We also love that the color stays the same – our blue yarn matches every time, and customers notice that."
Sarah Kim, Procurement Director, KidsWear Brands (USA)
"As a kids’ clothing brand, safety is key. Seagor’s Polyester Filament Thread has OEKO-TEX® certification, so we know it’s safe. It’s also tough – parents tell us our clothes hold up after lots of washes, which makes them loyal. Plus, fast delivery helps us keep up with seasonal demand."
Common Questions
How much do I need to order at least?
Standard products (like 200D Mattress Sewing Thread or 150D Polyester Filament Thread) have a 10kg minimum. Custom products (special colors or treatments) need at least 50kg. For testing, we offer 1kg sample spools at a lower price.
Can I get a sample before ordering a lot?
Yes! We have 1kg sample spools for all our Filaments (including Draw Textured Polyester Yarn and Mattress Sewing Thread). Samples are free – you just pay for shipping. We can also send color swatches to match your needs.
What if the thread doesn’t meet my quality standards?
We guarantee you’ll be happy. If the thread fails your tests (breaks, wrong color, etc.), contact us within 7 days of delivery. We’ll replace it for free or give you a full refund – no questions asked.
Will your thread work with my sewing machine?
Yes! Our threads work with all industrial machines (Juki, Brother, Singer) and home machines. We can send you a setup guide with needle size and tension tips for each product – just ask.
Can you put my brand on the spools?
Yes. We can print your brand name, logo, and product info on spools or boxes. Private labeling needs a 100kg minimum order and a small setup fee. We’ll send you a digital proof before making anything to make sure it looks right.
How do I store your threads to keep them good?
Keep spools in a cool, dry place (15-25°C, 40-60% humidity) – no direct sunlight. Don’t store near chemicals or sharp things. Unopened bulk boxes last 2 years. Once opened, use spools within 6 months to keep dust off.
